Braid 7-Fishtail Ponytail is one of my favorite pigtails for the summer along with the Mohawk Dutch Braid!
This hairstyle is super easy to make and a regular braid can even be replaced if you are not interested in fishtail braids. It’s perfect for the beach, a day at the pool and even on wet hair, which is especially nice now that I’ve packed away my curling irons until fall! (This challenge is a ton harder to do than I thought!)
Grab your favorite hair elastic and let us work to create that beauty of a braid!
Step 1 / Make all your hair into a high ponytail and tie it with a rubber band. (* Here are some great tips to master the high ponytail.)
Step 2 / Next, divide the ponytail in half.
Step 3 / Take a smaller part of the hair from the left side and separate it. Here is a video on How to Fishtail Braid if you prefer to pictures.
Step 4 / Cross over the smaller strand and insert it into the right area.
Step 5 / Now take a smaller section from the right side and separate it from the rest.
Step 6 / Cross the strand over the top and add it to the left side.
Step 7 / Further, small strands cross over the top to the opposite side, creating a fishtail braid.
Step 8 / Tie the tail off with an elastic band.
Step 9 / Gently loosen the braid for a casual effect.
