Originally I wore this hairstyle as # 5 in the second ribbon series, “8 (more!) Ways to wear a ribbon.” You can see the first part here. I’m not sure how or where I got the inspiration to put a band in that style, but it got really cute and thought it would be fun to show you how it was done.
The headband braid is a Dutch braid and corresponds to this hairstyle. The Dutch braid is actually a lace braid that sounds really tricky, but only means that only half of the braid has pulled in hair. The ribbon portion is made after the braid is put in place and reached by threading the braid through the braid alternately between above and below the necked portions. That sounds pretty difficult, even if I type, so just click on “Play” in the video to see step by step how it’s done. If you try it at home, let me know by tagging me on Twitter (@meliss_cook) or Instagram (@melisscook). Thank you for reading!
