Summer is officially here and with it comes the hot, hot heat. I do not know about you, but I will not pull out my hair dryer and curling iron to do my hair every day. It’s just too damn hot!
I’ve tried to think of fun new hairstyles that I can wear to work, and the rope braid is an old favorite of mine. I learned how to bring this cool braid back when I was 13 and a girl in my class had it in her hair.
I love this hairstyle on days when I want to wear a hat and no bun can sit on my noggin. That makes it perfect for any time I’m out by the pool, on the beach or shopping in my favorite stores.
This cool rope braid is easy to make and a great alternative to the traditional ponytail. It works best with hair that is one or two days old and all you need is a small elastic and tiny touch of hair spray.
1- Start by pulling your hair aside and dividing it into two sections.
2- Then turn each section counterclockwise.
3- Next, pull the strand in the back over the strand in the front.
4- And continue to wrap it up and back again.
5- Repeat this movement until you reach the end of your hair.
6- Then secure it with a rubber band.
7- Pull on the sides of the braid to loosen them and create volume within the braid.
8- You’re done!
This is such a great hairstyle if you want to take a break from the traditional ponytail or side pony and it is nice if you are in a hurry to get out the door.
So, throw your hair in this rope braid and you will have one of the cutest hairstyles this summer!
